Serving Scotland County

By building its own regional landfill, Scotland County can ensure sufficient disposal space and control related costs and generally increase the county's economic development potential.

Waste Management is seeking a franchise agreement that will give Scotland County control over the facility, which would provide the County residents and commercial businesses reduced solid waste disposal services. Scotland County can also increase its revenues for needed services and programs by accepting solid wastes from surrounding communities, all combined the savings and income are estimated at up to several million dollars annually.

In addition to having a long-term, economical and environmentally safe option for disposing of its Municipal Solid Waste, Scotland County will also see benefit from good jobs and tax income from the landfill, relocation of service companies to Scotland County and affiliated existing businesses of the County.
